An Overview of the Department


Introduction
The PG Department of Business Administration, established in 2004, achieved autonomous status in 2023. Its mission is to cultivate young women into entrepreneurs and corporate leaders who contribute to the nation’s development. Over the past two decades, the department has built a reputation for providing quality management education, with alumni holding prominent positions nationwide. Recognized as one of the most sought-after management programs, the department offers a comprehensive education, staying updated with industry trends. Students benefit from exposure to the corporate world through guest lectures and industrial visits, while the program’s distinctive case-based and activity-driven teaching methodologies enhance their learning experience.  In 2023, the department was recognized as a research center by Krishna University, reflecting its commitment to fostering high-quality research in its future initiatives.

Academic Programmes
The department offers a postgraduate program leading to a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with specializations in Marketing, Human Resource Management, and Finance. In the second year, students have the option to pursue dual specializations by selecting any combination of these three disciplines. As part of the curriculum, students are required to complete five elective courses aligned with their chosen specializations, including one mandatory domain-specific elective. Additionally, MOOCs and NPTEL courses are integrated into the program to enhance learning through diverse online platforms.

Faculty & Research
The department is recognized as a research center by Krishna University. Two faculty members are approved research supervisors, and currently, four full-time research scholars are pursuing their Ph.D. degrees. Both faculty and students are actively involved in teaching and research, including mentoring MBA project work. Students are also encouraged to undertake small-scale surveys, with their findings frequently published in academic journals.

 Students Achievements and Activities
Students of the department consistently excel in both academics and extracurricular activities. They actively participate in intercollegiate and national-level management meets, winning numerous accolades. To enhance practical learning, students are actively engaged in case presentations, role plays, and group discussions on a regular basis.
To enhance their employability, comprehensive placement training is provided, ensuring they are well-prepared for the job market. The department proudly achieves 100% academic results and placement success every year.

 Facilities & Resources
The department offers a well-equipped and enriching learning environment, featuring smart classrooms integrated with ICT tools for interactive instruction. Students have access to a variety of online learning platforms, digital resources, and a well-stocked central library that includes reference materials, textbooks, and more. Additionally, the department maintains its own dedicated library to support research activities. 

Industry & Academia Interaction
The department actively collaborates with industries and research organizations through Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at enhancing skill development. These partnerships facilitate guest lectures and workshops by industry experts, as well as internship and training programs. To provide students with real-world exposure, the department organizes both local and extended industrial visits, offering insights into organizational operations. Students are also encouraged to undertake internships to gain valuable hands-on experience and industry readiness.

Curriculum & Pedagogy
The department adopts innovative teaching methodologies to enrich the learning experience. Emphasis is placed on practical learning through regular case presentations, role plays, and group discussions. Group teaching, peer teaching, and seminar presentations are integrated into the assessment process, promoting collaborative and experiential learning. Additionally, students are encouraged to present business ideas, fostering creativity and nurturing their entrepreneurial spirit.
